ADULT EDUCATION AND COUNSELING PROGRAMS

Women Helping Women (WHW) Weekly Support Group is dedicated to providing survivors the opportunity to discuss, process, and gain peer support about the effects domestic violence has had on their lives. These groups provide a large range of educational information on the topics of domestic violence and building self-esteem.

 

Understanding Power & Control provides participants with the opportunity to enhance their ability to identify forms of abuse, dynamics and tactics of power and control, elements of equality and behaviors of a healthy relationship.

 

Domestic Violence Effects on Children (DVEC) provides information on a range of topics relating to the dynamics and effects of domestic violence on children’s lives and its adverse influence on children.

 

AM Sunshine meets outside (weather permitting) in the morning and offers participants the opportunity to discuss and process how domestic violence has affected their lives and the lives of their dependents.

 

Family Night encourages healthy parent-child relations through a number of social activities such as movie & popcorn night, ice cream social and other fun events.

 

Meditation Group provides participants with an opportunity for relaxation, anxiety relief, and tools that can help employ emotional regulation without religious overtones.
