SUSTAINABILITY SERVICES

Outreach Advocate Services to survivors who do not need to come into the Emergency Shelter include: safety and action planning, lethality assessment, relocation assistance, counseling, legal assistance, referral and linkage to community services, support and educational groups, job assistance, medical and therapeutic assistance, long term housing assistance and other services outside of residential facility.

 

InVEST (Intimate Violence Enhanced Services Team) is the partnership of a SafeSpace advocate with a Fort Pierce Police Department officer to identify victims at high risk for homicide and to intervene in an effort to enhance their possibility of receiving safety from further victimization.

 

Child Protection Investigations Project (CPI) aims to keep children out of foster care and in the home of non-offending parents while holding batterers accountable.

 

Injunction for Protection Program provides legal assistance and representation free of charge in filing injunction against intimate partner and obtaining temporary child support.

 

Economic Justice Empowerment Program provides advocacy and case management through information and resources to address economic conditions that create barriers to long-term independence and safety of survivors and their children. Assistance is provided with developing personal financial plans, pursuing educational goals, obtaining employment, establishing credit score and banking relationships, and other tactics to become and stay self-sufficient financially.

 

Transportation provided by staff as needed but may be provided in crisis situations by law enforcement personnel for safety.
